JustMOBI Kicks Off in Warsaw: Building the Foundations for Inclusive and Sustainable Mobility Education.
On October 13–15, 2025, partners of the JustMOBI Erasmus+ project gathered in Warsaw, Poland, for the official Kick-off Meeting, hosted by SWPS University. The meeting marked the beginning of a three-year collaboration aimed at reimagining higher education curricula through the lenses of digitalisation, inclusivity, gender equity, ecology, and sustainable mobility.
A Collaborative Start
The event opened with a warm welcome from the Dean of SWPS University, followed by a tour of the facilities and an introduction to the project’s administrative and financial framework. The first day focused on aligning organizational procedures, communication strategies, and reporting processes — ensuring that all partners share a clear understanding of project expectations and management.

Laying the Groundwork
The core session, “Understanding the Project Framework & Setting Common Ground”, brought together all consortium members to present their institutions, share expertise, and define priorities. Through an open and moderated discussion, the partners built a shared roadmap that connects each organization’s strengths to the project’s key objectives.
Participants included representatives from:
- SWPS University (Poland) – project coordinators
- University of Limerick (Ireland)
- IAAC – Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (Spain)
- Architektoniczki Foundation (Poland)
- Rupprecht Consult (Germany)
Focusing on Work Package 2: Research and Co-Creation
The second day was dedicated to Work Package 2 (WP2), led by the University of Limerick, focusing on collecting and analysing examples of higher education curricula addressing urban inclusivity, digitalisation, sustainability, and gender-sensitive mobility design.
During this hands-on workshop, partners discussed methods for mapping innovative teaching formats and identifying cross-sector collaborations that can inform the co-creation of new educational models.
As part of this work, partners also developed the Assessment of Needs Survey to be shared with faculty members at SWPS, IAAC, and UL. The survey aims to understand the current needs of higher education institutions by gathering data from educators on the existing and desired levels of digitalisation within curricula, faculty, and student engagement. This process will ensure that future curriculum developments are closely aligned with real-world needs and institutional priorities.

Next Steps
The meeting concluded with a wrap-up session to consolidate outcomes, plan next actions, and coordinate upcoming online meetings. Partners agreed to begin work on the research mapping phase and to prepare for the next consortium meeting.
With a shared vision and strong interdisciplinary foundation, JustMOBI is set to explore how education, design, and technology can contribute to more just, inclusive, and sustainable mobility systems in Europe and beyond.
